Oak Park Key Club Elections!

Leadership is a big part of this club! We encourage you to run for a position!

 

The main quality Key Club calls for is time and commitment. Even if you feel that you might not be experienced, if you are willing to put in the time and you care about Key Club/service, then you're a great candidate!

 

February-March is a transition period in which you will be taught how to be in your position by the old officer board. This April, the official new Key Club year begins and goes into April of following year.

 

Please note that you must be an official (dues paid) member to run and vote for a position.

PRESIDENT

  • Attend all club and officer meetings

  • Conduct and preside over club meetings and officer meetings

  • Create meeting agendas and powerpoints/visuals 

  • Delegate tasks among officers and help them when needed 

  • Keep track of division articles and visuals and monthly MRF's

  • Communicate with Division 42 East and CNH District

  • Communicate with Kiwanis and faculty advisors

  • Communicate with OPHS adminstration

  • Plan, coordinate and implement all projects/events along with other officers

SECRETARY

  • Attend all club and officer meetings

  • Keep track of member hours

  • Keep track of member attendance at meetings, divison events, etc.

  • Update and submit MRF's (Monthly Report Forms) to division and district on time each month

  • Update the club roster and other contact information

  • Participate in club, division and district events (Fall Rally, Officer Training Day, Division Council Meetings, etc.)

  • Help plan and implement events and fundraisers

HISTORIAN

  • Attend all club and officer meetings

  • Publicize all events and fundraisers through several channels: school bulletin/announcements, flyers and posters around the school, on social media, and in the division newsletter

  • Help take pictures for the club website and write articles for the divison newsletters

  • Participate in club, division and district events (Fall Rally, Officer Training Day, Division Council Meetings, etc.)

  • Help plan and implement events and fundraisers

VICE PRESIDENT

  • Attend all club and officer meetings

  • Preside over club meetings when president is absent

  • Assist the president with any duties and responsibilties

  • Help communicate with division and keep friendly relations with Kiwanis

  • Participate in club, division and district events (Fall Rally, Officer Training Day, Division Council Meetings, etc.)

  • Help plan and implement events and fundraisers

  • Manage the club e-mail and website

TREASURER

  • Attend all club and officer meetings

  • Update the Membership Update Center at the beginning of the year

  • Submit all check requests and forms to the student store

  • Pay club dues to Key Club international on time

  • Keep track of money raised throughout the year

  • Participate in club, division and district events (Fall Rally, Officer Training Day, Division Council Meetings, etc.)

  • Help plan and implement events and fundraisers

ELECTIONS INFORMATION

WHERE: Mr. Creason's Room G-8
WHY: Become an integral part of the Key Club family by getting involved with the decision-making, "behind the scenes" process of the club.

HOW: Please fill out the form HERE.

On election day come prepared with a 1-2 minute speech to give to the club. Remember this speech is the only impression that most members will have on you. After votes are counted, candidates with the most votes become officers, expected to take on their full responsibilities by April or (under rare situations) cancel their position by the end of February.
